Criteria for Success

  • Identifies that Beatty manipulates Montag by trying to scare him into conforming.
  • Identifies that Beatty is full of contradictions
    • He is cynical about books and knowledge but is clearly well-read and educated.
    • He preaches equality but is arrogant and authoritative.
  • Identifies that Beatty is disgusted by people who do not conform and sees them as a problem to get rid of.
