  1. What is the prompt asking you to do?
  2. What is your plan for how you will accomplish that? How will you structure your essay?

Key Questions

Novel:

  • What is happening to Kambili in her time at Aunty Ifeoma's house? What is the effect of this new experience on her? Be specific about the effects you've observed and use evidence from the text to support them.

Poem and Novel:

  • How does the author use Kambili's changes to communicate the theme of identity and coming of age? How is this similar to/different from how the poet conveys this theme?

Notes

This would be a good place to include a tone question on the poem and maybe even about the novel.

Next

Write an essay in which they compare how the poet and the author each develop the theme of identity.
