Anchor Problems - Problem 1

Reason about the size of each measurement unit to determine if you would have more or less of each unit described below.

a.   You have 5 feet of ribbon. Do you have more or less than 5 cm of ribbon?

b.   You have 3 cups of milk. Do you have more or less than 3 liters of milk?

c.   You have 6 kilograms of corn. Do you have more or less than 6 grams of corn?

d.   You are traveling 30 miles per hour. Is that faster or slower than 30 meters per hour?

There are approximately 2.54 cm in every inch. A book measures 7 inches tall. How tall is the book in centimeters?
