Chelsea is the Director of Sales and Marketing at Fishtank Learning. Prior to joining the Fishtank team, Chelsea was the Sr. Integrated Marketing Manager at Boston Ballet, where she managed a broad portfolio of audience development and retention initiatives. She is a former opera singer, with degrees from The Boston Conservatory and University of Colorado, Boulder. Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys reading, podcasts, and exploring new corners of Boston.
Sarah is the Senior Curriculum Director for Mathematics for grades 3-5. Sarah began her career in education through Teach For America Massachusetts, where she taught 7th and 8th grade mathematics. She then joined the staff at Teach For America as a manager of teacher leadership development, supporting and coaching their new math teachers of all grade levels. She has a Bachelor's degree in mathematics from Union College and a Master's degree in curriculum and teaching from Boston University. Sarah enjoys all things food - cooking and trying out new restaurants and cuisines.
Aleah Dacey is the author of the middle school Fishtank writing and grammar curriculum. Before joining the Fishtank team, Aleah taught English at public, independent, and charter schools for 12 years, most recently at the Ricks Center for Gifted Children at the University of Denver. Aleah was also the curriculum coordinator at KIPP: New Jersey. She holds a Bachelor's degree in English and Art History from Rutgers University, a Master’s degree in Teaching, Learning, and Technology from Lehigh University, and a Master’s degree in English from Middleburg College. She is interested in the intersection of writing and technology, and has recently attended the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop and Yale Writers’ Workshop.
Naomi S. Daugherty is the Director of English Professional Learning for grades K-12 at Fishtank Learning. Naomi began her teaching career at KIPP Renaissance High School, now Fredrick Douglass, in New Orleans Louisiana. At KIPP, Naomi spent 4 years exploring books with kids while teaching 9th Grade English, American Literature, and writing curriculum. From the classroom, Naomi went on to serve as the Regional Partnership Coordinator for Girls Who Code representing Louisiana and Mississippi. Prior to joining Fishtank, Naomi served as the Lead Internship Coach for YouthForce Nola. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Communication, Women and Gender Studies, and Creative Writing from the University of Missouri. Naomi is committed to cultivating liberation for Black people and all those who are forced into the margins. Most recently, Naomi authored her first collection of poetry titled The Clearing, and spends much of her free time making candles, brewing tea, and tending to her plants.
Caroline is the ELA Curriculum Director for grades 6-8. Caroline grew up in New Haven, CT. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in gender and women’s studies from Pomona College and a Master’s degree in English literature from Middlebury College. Caroline began her career at Achievement First's Amistad Academy teaching 7th grade English, and later taught 8th grade English at KIPP New Jersey’s Rise Academy. Most recently she was the Middle School Literacy Curriculum Director for KIPP New Jersey. Caroline enjoys hiking with her dog in the Green Mountains of Vermont.
Claire is the CEO of Fishtank Learning. Prior to joining Fishtank Learning, Claire was a Vice President at the National Center on Time and Learning where she led the organization's knowledge management and dissemination work and developed materials and tools to support effective school redesign. She has produced numerous reports and videos on effective school practices. Claire holds a BA in Comparative Literature from Princeton University and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.
Shawn is the School Partnerships Manager at Fishtank Learning. Prior to joining the Fishtank team, Shawn was the Program Manager at Public Allies New Orleans, where he managed recruitment and development of AmeriCorps Members and Programs. He is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and received his bachelor's degree from Loyola University New Orleans. Outside of work, Shawn enjoys cooking, podcasts, and traveling.
Anne is the Managing Director of ELA Curriculum and the author of the Fishtank ELA curriculum for grades K-5. She began her career in education through Teach for America South Louisiana where she fell in love with teaching. She taught elementary school for 8 years in both public and charter schools in Louisiana, Texas, and Massachusetts before joining the Fishtank team. She has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont and a Master’s degree in school leadership from Louisiana State University. Outside of work, Anne enjoys reading, exercising and traveling.
Chris is the Full Stack Developer at Fishtank Learning. Prior to joining the Fishtank team, Chris worked as the Assistant Director of Digital Strategy for Facing History and Ourselves, working to develop their digital products and to scale their program delivery. Earlier in his career, Chris worked as a small donor fundraiser and political campaign recruiter. He holds a B.A. in History from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Ryan is the Product Manager at Fishtank Learning. Prior to joining the Fishtank team, Ryan worked as a Publications Coordinator at Harvard University, organizing conference proceedings and managing websites for an interdisciplinary research center. He has worked extensively as an English tutor from middle school to the university level. Ryan holds a B.A. in English from UMass Amherst. Outside of work, Ryan spends his time reading, hiking, and camping.
Faith is the Director of Math Professional Learning at Fishtank. She began her career at Match Community Day as a second grade teacher. Before joining the Fishtank Learning team she was the Teaching & Learning Manager at Mass STEM Hub where she helped support schools in their implementation of high quality STEM curriculum. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in sociology from Kenyon College. Outside of work Faith loves reading, hosting dinner parties, road trips, and discussing all things pop culture.
Ebony is the ELA Curriculum Director for grades 9-12. She began her career at KIPP Academy Lynn Middle School, where she taught 7th grade Reading for two years. She then went on to teach high school ELA in New York and New Jersey at Harlem Village Academies High School and KIPP: Newark Collegiate Academy for 5 years. Prior to working at Fishtank, she served as the Director of Secondary Literacy Curriculum, grades 5-12 at KIPP NJ and an Assistant Principal at Dream Charter High School. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston College. In her leisure time, Ebony enjoys cooking, baking, hosting family gatherings and traveling.
Maggie is the ELA Curriculum Director for grades K-5. Maggie joined the Fishtank team after a decade teaching 1st, 2nd, and 5th grades in public and charter schools in Providence, Brooklyn, and Boston. She has also worked as an Instructional Coach with the Sposato Graduate School of Education, an EdVestors Zeroing in on Math Teaching Fellow, and as the Director of High School Placement at CitySquash. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Amherst College and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Brown University. Maggie loves reading, yoga, and spending time with her family on Cape Cod.
Zach is the Finance and Operations Manager at Fishtank Learning. He graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Sciences. During his time at UVM, he developed the position of Lead Tutor, piloted the student-to-student advisory program, and represented the student body on the Educational Advisory Board. After graduating he spent six months working as an Academic Coach at Mansfield Hall, a residential program for students with learning differences. In his spare time he enjoys watching football (go Pats), rock climbing, and spending time with his friends.
Alexis Simpson McGee is a curriculum writer for the Fishtank ELA high school curriculum. Alexis is currently an Assistant Principal at Booker T. Washington High School with KIPP New Orleans Schools. Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal, Alexis served as the English Dean of Instruction for a year and taught 12th Grade English IV and AP Literature and Composition for 3 years. In addition to her roles within KIPP New Orleans, Alexis consults with a variety of organizations on curriculum development and high school academic priorities. In addition, she is a curriculum writer for the KIPP Foundation's AP for All curriculum and a curriculum consultant for StudySync. Alexis is a Greater New Orleans Teach For America alumna and a proud alumna of Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in Human and Organizational Development and a minor in Corporate Strategy.
Jami is the Managing Director of Mathematics curriculum at Fishtank Learning, and the author of the middle school Fishtank Math curriculum. She began her career at Roxbury Preparatory Charter School, where she served for 10 years teaching 8th grade math and 5th grade special education. Prior to joining Fishtank, Jami also worked at the Achievement Network as the managing director of the math assessment team. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Rochester, and a Master’s degree in teaching from Tufts University. She enjoys corny math jokes and spending time outdoors with her family.
