In this lesson students will brainstorm a personal, social, or political issue for their persuasive speeches. To foster classroom safety, speech topics should be in the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rita Pierson by promoting inclusivity. Approve speech topics to ensure students have chosen topics that will be uplifting and not harmful to their classmates.
