The focus for the next two days is on using the structural elements of poetry to deeply analyze and discuss the central messages of different poems. After analyzing the two focus poems, pull small groups of students to remediate different features of poetry based on individual student needs. For example, if there is a group of students who are still struggling with personification, pick a poem that uses personification and pull them during this lesson.
