1st Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, 1st graders develop an understanding of addition and subtraction within 20, place value, measurement, and geometric shapes.

2nd Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, 2nd graders develop an understanding of and fluency with addition and subtraction, place value within 1,000, measurement with both standard and metric units, and properties of two-dimensional shapes.

2nd Grade - Addition and Subtraction Within 20

Students extend their knowledge of addition and subtraction within 20 to fluently add and subtract within 20 using various strategies. This work is put into practice as students solve add to, take from, and put together/take apart word problem types using tape diagrams and equations to represent what is happening mathematically.

1st Grade - Adding and Subtracting Within 10

Students build fluency with addition and subtraction within 10 using various strategies. Students solve familiar story problem types within 10 using objects, pictures, and equations to represent the mathematics in the problem.

2nd Grade - Adding and Subtracting Within 100

Students develop strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and the operational relationship between addition and subtraction to add and subtract within 100 fluently. Students will use these strategies to add up to four two-digit numbers and explain why these strategies work. Students also explore categorical data.

1st Grade - Adding and Subtracting With Story Problems

Students solve new story problem types within 10 using objects, pictures, and equations to represent the mathematics in the problem. They explore the relationship between addition and subtraction and develop flexibility relating equations to story problems.

2nd Grade - Place Value with Numbers to 1,000 & Money

Students extend their place value knowledge to 1,000 and use this knowledge to represent and compare three-digit numbers. Students are also introduced to money, identifying coins and their value, and determining the value of coin collections.

2nd Grade - Adding and Subtracting Within 1,000

Students add and subtract within 1,000 using strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and the operational relationship between addition and subtraction in order to add and subtract within 1,000. Students will use these strategies to add up to two 3-digit numbers concretely, pictorially and abstractly and explain why these strategies work.

2nd Grade Math - Unit 1: Addition and Subtraction Within 20 - Lesson 1

Find the value of addition and subtraction expressions where the total is within 10.

2nd Grade Math - Unit 1: Addition and Subtraction Within 20 - Lesson 2

Find the value that makes equations true where the total is 10.

2nd Grade Math - Unit 1: Addition and Subtraction Within 20 - Lesson 3

Find the value that makes equations true where the total is less than or equal to 10.

2nd Grade Math - Unit 1: Addition and Subtraction Within 20 - Lesson 5

Find the value that makes equations true where one part is 10 or a teen number.

2nd Grade Math - Unit 2: Adding and Subtracting Within 100 - Lesson 7

Subtract within 100 by using a ten to help.

2nd Grade Math - Unit 1: Addition and Subtraction Within 20 - Lesson 8

Subtract within 20 by thinking of it as an unknown-addend problem.

2nd Grade Math - Unit 1: Addition and Subtraction Within 20 - Lesson 9

Add and subtract within 20 using doubles and near doubles.

2nd Grade Math - Unit 1: Addition and Subtraction Within 20 - Lesson 10

Add and subtract within 20 and explain why strategies work.

2nd Grade Math - Unit 1: Addition and Subtraction Within 20 - Lesson 11

Solve easy and middle difficulty add to, take from, and put together/take apart story problems using any way that makes sense to them.
