5th Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, students continue to explore operations with fractions; develop understanding of operations containing whole numbers and decimals to hundredths; and familiarize themselves with volume.

6th Grade Math

Students learn key concepts in their progression towards middle school algebra, including ratios and rates, rational numbers, algebraic expressions and equations, area and volume, and statistics.

7th Grade Math

In this course students develop their skills in proportional reasoning, rational number computation, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability.

8th Grade Math

Students make several advances in their algebraic reasoning as they solve systems of linear equations, use functions to describe relationships, and analyze two- and three-dimensional figures.

Geometry

Students further their understanding of geometric relationships and learn to make formal mathematical arguments about geometric situations, with a heavy emphasis on transformations and proofs.

10th Grade - Constructions, Proof, and Rigid Motion

Students use the properties of circles to construct and understand different geometric figures, and lay the groundwork for constructing mathematical arguments through proof.

6th Grade - Rational Numbers

Students are introduced to integers and rational numbers, extending the number line to include negative values, understanding the order of rational numbers, and interpreting them in context.

10th Grade - Polygons and Algebraic Relationships

Students connect algebra to geometric concepts with polygons as they explore the distance formula, slope criteria for parallel and perpendicular lines, and learn to calculate and justify the area and perimeter of polygons.

7th Grade - Geometry

Students apply algebraic and proportional reasoning skills to investigate angle relationships, circle measurements, uniqueness of triangles, and solid figure application problems.

6th Grade - Geometry

Students explore measurements of geometric figures in two-and three-dimensions, finding area, surface area, and volume in mathematical and real-world problems.

8th Grade - Pythagorean Theorem and Volume

Students learn about irrational numbers, approximating square roots of non-perfect square numbers, and investigate the well-known Pythagorean Theorem to solve for missing measures in right triangles.

5th Grade - Patterns and the Coordinate Plane

Students are introduced to the coordinate plane and use it to represent the location of objects in space, as well as to represent patterns and real-world situations.

Geometry - Unit 5: Polygons and Algebraic Relationships - Lesson 6

Identify and create parallelograms, rectangles, rhombuses, and squares on the coordinate plane.

6th Grade Math - Unit 7: Geometry - Lesson 7

Draw polygons in the coordinate plane and find area and perimeter (Part 1).

6th Grade Math - Unit 7: Geometry - Lesson 8

Draw polygons in the coordinate plane and find area and perimeter (Part 2).

6th Grade Math - Unit 7: Geometry - Lesson 9

Solve real-world problems involving distance, area, and perimeter of polygons on and off the coordinate plane.

Geometry - Unit 5: Polygons and Algebraic Relationships - Lesson 11

Calculate and justify composite and irregular areas on the coordinate plane.

8th Grade Math - Unit 7: Pythagorean Theorem and Volume - Lesson 12

Find the distance between points in the coordinate plane using the Pythagorean Theorem.

Geometry - Unit 5: Polygons and Algebraic Relationships - Lesson 14

Describe a polygon on the coordinate plane using a system of inequalities.

Geometry - Unit 5: Polygons and Algebraic Relationships - Lesson 15

Calculate and justify the area and perimeter of polygons on the coordinate plane given a system of inequalities.
