8th Grade Math

Students make several advances in their algebraic reasoning as they solve systems of linear equations, use functions to describe relationships, and analyze two- and three-dimensional figures.

Algebra 1

Students explore linear, quadratic, and exponential functions, and develop a deep understanding of the features of each function—graphically and algebraically—as they create models and analyze situations.

Geometry

Students further their understanding of geometric relationships and learn to make formal mathematical arguments about geometric situations, with a heavy emphasis on transformations and proofs.

Algebra 2

Students develop their conceptual understanding, fluency, and ability to apply advanced functions, draw connections between function types, and build functions that model contextual situations.

11th Grade - Linear Functions and Applications

Students review and extend the Algebra 1 skills of graphing, manipulating, and describing solutions in order to deepen their understanding of modeling situations using linear functions.

9th Grade - Linear Expressions & Single-Variable Equations/Inequalities

Students become proficient at manipulating and solving single-variable linear equations and inequalities, and using them to model and interpret contextual situations.

9th Grade - Linear Equations, Inequalities and Systems

Students manipulate, graph, and model with two-variable linear equations and inequalities, are introduced to inverse functions, and continue studying linear systems of equations and inequalities.

9th Grade - Functions and Transformations

Students take a deeper look at piecewise functions and absolute value functions, and study how transformations of functions can be identified graphically and represented algebraically.

10th Grade - Polygons and Algebraic Relationships

Students connect algebra to geometric concepts with polygons as they explore the distance formula, slope criteria for parallel and perpendicular lines, and learn to calculate and justify the area and perimeter of polygons.

8th Grade - Systems of Linear Equations

Students explore what happens when you consider two linear equations simultaneously, and explore the many rich applications that can be modeled with systems of linear equations in two variables.

11th Grade - Trigonometric Identities and Equations

Students expand on their knowledge of trigonometry, developing a foundation for calculus concepts by expanding their conception of trigonometric functions and looking at connections between functions.

9th Grade - Quadratic Equations and Applications

Students continue their study of quadratic equations, learning new strategies to determine the vertex and roots of quadratic equations and applying these in various real-world contexts.

Geometry - Unit 5: Polygons and Algebraic Relationships - Lesson 5

Describe and apply the slope criteria for parallel lines.

Algebra 2 - Unit 1: Linear Functions and Applications - Lesson 7

Describe the number of solutions of a system of equations. Verify algebraically.

Algebra 2 - Unit 1: Linear Functions and Applications - Lesson 8

Solve a system of three equations in three variables.

Algebra 2 - Unit 1: Linear Functions and Applications - Lesson 9

Identify the solution to a system of an absolute value equation and a linear function algebraically and graphically.

Algebra 2 - Unit 1: Linear Functions and Applications - Lesson 10

Graph and identify solutions to systems of linear inequalities.

Algebra 1 - Unit 5: Functions and Transformations - Lesson 11

Identify solutions to a system of absolute value and linear functions graphically and algebraically.

Algebra 1 - Unit 4: Linear Equations, Inequalities and Systems - Lesson 11

Solve linear systems of equations of two variables by substitution.

Algebra 1 - Unit 4: Linear Equations, Inequalities and Systems - Lesson 13

Identify solutions to systems of equations using any method. Write systems of equations.
