  • During the dinner party scene, Mildred gets Montag to read an excerpt of the poem "Dover Beach" by Matthew Arnold as shown on pages 96-97. How does Arnold use literary devices to reveal meaning in this excerpt of “Dover Beach”? Why does Bradbury choose to have Montag read from the poem in his novel? 
  • In section 2, Bradbury develops Montag’s relationship with Faber? What does Faber represent in the story? How is Montag’s relationship with Faber similar to or different from his relationship with Beatty?
