Target Task

Discussion & Writing Prompt

Plan a nutritious and delicious breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Explain what is included in the meal and why it is a healthy meal.

Notes

  • In order for this lesson to be successful, you should gather a lot of grocery store circulars so that students have a wide variety of images and foods to pick from, and create fake place mats for students. The more options students have, the more creative they can be in their meal-planning. See here for an example: "MyPlate Placemat" (Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver Health and Life Skills Blog).
