A Note for Teachers


  • Today’s reading includes another incident of police brutality and injustice. Leave room for students to discuss their reactions to this.
  • On page 107, characters again compare their experience of working in the factory to that of enslaved people. Remind students of the previous conversation in Lesson 3 and Lesson 8 about the false equivalency of slave labor and factory work.
