1st Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, 1st graders develop an understanding of addition and subtraction within 20, place value, measurement, and geometric shapes.

2nd Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, 2nd graders develop an understanding of and fluency with addition and subtraction, place value within 1,000, measurement with both standard and metric units, and properties of two-dimensional shapes.

4th Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, students develop an understanding of multi-digit multiplication and division; fraction equivalence and operations with fractions; and classification and analysis of geometric figures and their angles.

7th Grade Math

In this course students develop their skills in proportional reasoning, rational number computation, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability.

1st Grade - Adding and Subtracting Within 10

Students build fluency with addition and subtraction within 10 using various strategies. Students solve familiar story problem types within 10 using objects, pictures, and equations to represent the mathematics in the problem.

2nd Grade - Adding and Subtracting Within 100

Students develop strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and the operational relationship between addition and subtraction to add and subtract within 100 fluently. Students will use these strategies to add up to four two-digit numbers and explain why these strategies work. Students also explore categorical data.

7th Grade - Operations with Rational Numbers

Students extend the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to include positive and negative rational numbers, and build fluency with evaluating numerical expressions.

1st Grade - Adding and Subtracting With Story Problems

Students solve new story problem types within 10 using objects, pictures, and equations to represent the mathematics in the problem. They explore the relationship between addition and subtraction and develop flexibility relating equations to story problems.

2nd Grade - Metric Measurement

Students develop the fundamental skills of measuring length by exploring metric and customary measurement. They also develop an understanding of number lines and line plots.

2nd Grade - Adding and Subtracting Within 1,000

Students add and subtract within 1,000 using strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and the operational relationship between addition and subtraction in order to add and subtract within 1,000. Students will use these strategies to add up to two 3-digit numbers concretely, pictorially and abstractly and explain why these strategies work.

2nd Grade - Customary Measurement, Shapes, and Telling Time

Students extend their measurement understanding to work with customary units, reason with shapes and their attributes, partition shapes into equal shares and describe them, and extend knowledge of time by reading and representing time to the nearest five minutes.

4th Grade - Shapes and Angles

Students are introduced to the more abstract concepts of points, lines, line segments, rays, and angles, as they learn to measure angles and then analyze shapes by their angles and lines of symmetry.

1st Grade Math - Unit 2: Adding and Subtracting With Story Problems - Lesson 16

Solve compare story problems with difference unknown using a number path.

1st Grade Math - Unit 2: Adding and Subtracting With Story Problems - Lesson 17

Solve compare story problems with difference unknown using tape diagrams.

2nd Grade Math - Unit 5: Adding and Subtracting Within 1,000 - Lesson 21

Solve one-step word problems using strategies to solve within 100.

2nd Grade Math - Unit 5: Adding and Subtracting Within 1,000 - Lesson 22

Solve two-step word problems using strategies to solve within 100.
