3rd Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, third graders develop an understanding of and fluency with multiplication and division within 100, fractions, area, and properties of two-dimensional shapes.

4th Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, students develop an understanding of multi-digit multiplication and division; fraction equivalence and operations with fractions; and classification and analysis of geometric figures and their angles.

5th Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, students continue to explore operations with fractions; develop understanding of operations containing whole numbers and decimals to hundredths; and familiarize themselves with volume.

6th Grade Math

Students learn key concepts in their progression towards middle school algebra, including ratios and rates, rational numbers, algebraic expressions and equations, area and volume, and statistics.

7th Grade Math

In this course students develop their skills in proportional reasoning, rational number computation, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability.

6th Grade - Unit Rates and Percent

Students investigate rates and percentages by identifying the rates associated with a ratio, defining a percent as a rate per 100, and applying strategies to solve rate and percent problems.

3rd Grade - Area

Students develop an understanding of areas as how much two-dimensional space a figure takes up, and relate it to their work with multiplication from Units 2 and 3.

6th Grade - Numerical and Algebraic Expressions

Students venture into the Expressions and Equations domain, using variables to represent unknown or changing quantities, and using properties of operations to investigate equivalent expressions.

5th Grade - Multiplication and Division of Fractions

Students deepen their understanding of fraction multiplication and begin to explore to fraction division (and fractions as division), as well as apply this new understanding to the context of line plots.

4th Grade - Fraction Operations

Students start to operate on fractions, learning how to add fractions with like denominators and multiply a whole number by any fraction.

5th Grade - Multiplication and Division of Decimals

Students use their knowledge of multiplication and division with whole numbers and with fractions to multiply and divide with decimals, and apply this understanding to the context of measurement conversion.

6th Grade - Geometry

Students explore measurements of geometric figures in two-and three-dimensions, finding area, surface area, and volume in mathematical and real-world problems.

4th Grade - Unit Conversions

Students build their competencies in measurement, relating multiplication to the conversion of measurement units and exploring strategies for solving measurement problems.

6th Grade - Statistics

Students get their first experience of statistics in this unit, defining a statistical question and investigating the key concepts of measures of center and measures of variability.

6th Grade Math - Unit 2: Unit Rates and Percent - Lesson 6

Reason with measurement units and solve unit conversion problems using different strategies.

6th Grade Math - Unit 2: Unit Rates and Percent - Lesson 7

Solve measurement unit conversion problems.

6th Grade Math - Unit 7: Geometry - Lesson 11

Determine the formulas for finding volume of rectangular prisms and use the formulas to solve for volume.

6th Grade Math - Unit 7: Geometry - Lesson 12

Apply volume concepts to solve real-world and mathematical problems, including finding missing measurements.

5th Grade Math - Unit 6: Multiplication and Division of Decimals - Lesson 19

Express measurements in a whole number of larger units or mixed units in terms of a smaller unit.

5th Grade Math - Unit 6: Multiplication and Division of Decimals - Lesson 20

Express measurements in a fractional or decimal number of larger units in terms of a smaller unit.
