Algebra 1

Students explore linear, quadratic, and exponential functions, and develop a deep understanding of the features of each function—graphically and algebraically—as they create models and analyze situations.

Algebra 2

Students develop their conceptual understanding, fluency, and ability to apply advanced functions, draw connections between function types, and build functions that model contextual situations.

9th Grade - Functions, Graphs and Features

Students are introduced to the main features of functions that they will learn throughout the year, providing students with a conceptual understanding of how functions are used to model various situations.

11th Grade - Polynomials

Students analyze features of polynomials using their equations and graphs, perform arithmetic operations on polynomials, and use polynomial identities to solve problems.

9th Grade - Linear Equations, Inequalities and Systems

Students manipulate, graph, and model with two-variable linear equations and inequalities, are introduced to inverse functions, and continue studying linear systems of equations and inequalities.

11th Grade - Exponential Modeling and Logarithms

Students revisit exponential functions, including geometric sequences and series, and learn to manipulate logarithmic expressions and equations to solve problems involving exponential modeling.

9th Grade - Exponents and Exponential Functions

Students extend their understanding of properties of exponents to include rational exponents and radicals, and investigate rates of change in linear and exponential sequences and functions.

9th Grade - Quadratic Functions and Solutions

Students investigate and understand the features that are unique to quadratic functions, and they learn to factor quadratic equations in order to reveal the roots of the equation.

Algebra 2 - Unit 5: Exponential Modeling and Logarithms - Lesson 1

Identify, model, and analyze geometric sequences.

Algebra 2 - Unit 3: Polynomials - Lesson 2

Identify features of polynomial functions including end behavior, intervals where the function is positive or negative, and domain and range of function.

Algebra 1 - Unit 7: Quadratic Functions and Solutions - Lesson 3

Calculate and compare the average rate of change for linear, exponential, and quadratic functions.

Algebra 1 - Unit 1: Functions, Graphs and Features - Lesson 8

Draw quadratic functions represented contextually. Identify key features of the graph and relate to context.

Algebra 1 - Unit 1: Functions, Graphs and Features - Lesson 9

Sketch an exponential function that represents a situation. Identify key features of the graph and relate to context.

Algebra 1 - Unit 6: Exponents and Exponential Functions - Lesson 14

Write explicit rules for arithmetic sequences and translate between explicit and recursive formulas.

Algebra 1 - Unit 6: Exponents and Exponential Functions - Lesson 15

Write explicit rules for geometric sequences and translate between explicit and recursive formulas.

Algebra 1 - Unit 6: Exponents and Exponential Functions - Lesson 16

Compare rates of change in linear and exponential functions shown as equations, graphs, and situations.

Algebra 1 - Unit 6: Exponents and Exponential Functions - Lesson 19

Write exponential growth functions to model financial applications, including compound interest.
