1st Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, 1st graders develop an understanding of addition and subtraction within 20, place value, measurement, and geometric shapes.

2nd Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, 2nd graders develop an understanding of and fluency with addition and subtraction, place value within 1,000, measurement with both standard and metric units, and properties of two-dimensional shapes.

3rd Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, third graders develop an understanding of and fluency with multiplication and division within 100, fractions, area, and properties of two-dimensional shapes.

4th Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, students develop an understanding of multi-digit multiplication and division; fraction equivalence and operations with fractions; and classification and analysis of geometric figures and their angles.

5th Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, students continue to explore operations with fractions; develop understanding of operations containing whole numbers and decimals to hundredths; and familiarize themselves with volume.

6th Grade Math

Students learn key concepts in their progression towards middle school algebra, including ratios and rates, rational numbers, algebraic expressions and equations, area and volume, and statistics.

7th Grade Math

In this course students develop their skills in proportional reasoning, rational number computation, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability.

1st Grade - Adding and Subtracting Within 10

Students build fluency with addition and subtraction within 10 using various strategies. Students solve familiar story problem types within 10 using objects, pictures, and equations to represent the mathematics in the problem.

5th Grade - Place Value with Decimals

Students build upon their understanding of the place value system by extending its patterns to decimals, and continue to read, write, compare, and round numbers, including decimals, in various forms.

7th Grade - Operations with Rational Numbers

Students extend the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to include positive and negative rational numbers, and build fluency with evaluating numerical expressions.

3rd Grade - Multiplication and Division, Part 1

Students begin to explore the concepts of multiplication and division, beginning in the context of equal group and array problems, moving to skip-counting and repeated addition, and ending with more complex and/or abstract problems.

4th Grade - Multi-Digit Multiplication

Students are introduced to multi-digit multiplication and its applications, including multiplicative comparison.

6th Grade - Unit Rates and Percent

Students investigate rates and percentages by identifying the rates associated with a ratio, defining a percent as a rate per 100, and applying strategies to solve rate and percent problems.

2nd Grade - Adding and Subtracting Within 100

Students develop strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and the operational relationship between addition and subtraction to add and subtract within 100 fluently. Students will use these strategies to add up to four two-digit numbers and explain why these strategies work. Students also explore categorical data.

3rd Grade - Multiplication and Division, Part 2

Students deepen their understanding of multiplication and division, including their properties and extending their study of factors to include all units from 0 to 10, as well as multiples of 10 within 100.

6th Grade - Rational Numbers

Students are introduced to integers and rational numbers, extending the number line to include negative values, understanding the order of rational numbers, and interpreting them in context.

5th Grade - Addition and Subtraction of Fractions/Decimals

Students extend their computational work to include fractions and decimals, adding and subtracting numbers in those forms in this unit before moving to multiplication and division in subsequent units.

2nd Grade - Place Value with Numbers to 1,000 & Money

Students extend their place value knowledge to 1,000 and use this knowledge to represent and compare three-digit numbers. Students are also introduced to money, identifying coins and their value, and determining the value of coin collections.

4th Grade - Fraction Equivalence and Ordering

Students are exposed to factors and multiples, then develop general methods and strategies to recognize and generate equivalent fractions, as well as learn to compare fractions with different numerators and different denominators.

4th Grade - Fraction Operations

Students start to operate on fractions, learning how to add fractions with like denominators and multiply a whole number by any fraction.
