5th Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, students continue to explore operations with fractions; develop understanding of operations containing whole numbers and decimals to hundredths; and familiarize themselves with volume.

6th Grade Math

Students learn key concepts in their progression towards middle school algebra, including ratios and rates, rational numbers, algebraic expressions and equations, area and volume, and statistics.

7th Grade Math

In this course students develop their skills in proportional reasoning, rational number computation, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability.

8th Grade Math

Students make several advances in their algebraic reasoning as they solve systems of linear equations, use functions to describe relationships, and analyze two- and three-dimensional figures.

Algebra 1

Students explore linear, quadratic, and exponential functions, and develop a deep understanding of the features of each function—graphically and algebraically—as they create models and analyze situations.

5th Grade - Place Value with Decimals

Students build upon their understanding of the place value system by extending its patterns to decimals, and continue to read, write, compare, and round numbers, including decimals, in various forms.

7th Grade - Proportional Relationships

Students deepen their understanding of ratios to investigate proportional relationships, in order to solve multi-step, real-world ratio problems using new strategies that rely on proportional reasoning.

6th Grade - Unit Rates and Percent

Students investigate rates and percentages by identifying the rates associated with a ratio, defining a percent as a rate per 100, and applying strategies to solve rate and percent problems.

5th Grade - Multiplication and Division of Whole Numbers

Students continue their work with multi-digit multiplication and division and the base-ten system in order to finalize fluency with multi-digit multiplication and extend division to two-digit divisors.

8th Grade - Functions

Students learn how to represent, interpret, and analyze functions in various forms, leading to understanding features such as rates of change, initial values, and intervals of increase and decrease.

8th Grade - Linear Relationships

Students compare proportional relationships, define and identify slope from various representations, graph linear equations in the coordinate plane, and write equations for linear relationships.

6th Grade - Numerical and Algebraic Expressions

Students venture into the Expressions and Equations domain, using variables to represent unknown or changing quantities, and using properties of operations to investigate equivalent expressions.

5th Grade - Multiplication and Division of Decimals

Students use their knowledge of multiplication and division with whole numbers and with fractions to multiply and divide with decimals, and apply this understanding to the context of measurement conversion.

8th Grade - Systems of Linear Equations

Students explore what happens when you consider two linear equations simultaneously, and explore the many rich applications that can be modeled with systems of linear equations in two variables.

6th Grade - Equations and Inequalities

Students discover how to use equations and inequalities to model relationships between quantities, and investigate the meaning of having a solution to an equation or an inequality.

6th Grade - Geometry

Students explore measurements of geometric figures in two-and three-dimensions, finding area, surface area, and volume in mathematical and real-world problems.

5th Grade - Patterns and the Coordinate Plane

Students are introduced to the coordinate plane and use it to represent the location of objects in space, as well as to represent patterns and real-world situations.

6th Grade Math - Unit 6: Equations and Inequalities - Lesson 1

Represent equations in the form $${ x+p=q }$$ and $${px=q}$$ using tape diagrams and balances.

6th Grade Math - Unit 6: Equations and Inequalities - Lesson 3

Write equations for real-world situations.

6th Grade Math - Unit 5: Numerical and Algebraic Expressions - Lesson 3

Use variables to write algebraic expressions.
