5th Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, students continue to explore operations with fractions; develop understanding of operations containing whole numbers and decimals to hundredths; and familiarize themselves with volume.

6th Grade Math

Students learn key concepts in their progression towards middle school algebra, including ratios and rates, rational numbers, algebraic expressions and equations, area and volume, and statistics.

7th Grade Math

In this course students develop their skills in proportional reasoning, rational number computation, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability.

8th Grade Math

Students make several advances in their algebraic reasoning as they solve systems of linear equations, use functions to describe relationships, and analyze two- and three-dimensional figures.

Algebra 1

Students explore linear, quadratic, and exponential functions, and develop a deep understanding of the features of each function—graphically and algebraically—as they create models and analyze situations.

6th Grade - Understanding and Representing Ratios

Students are introduced to the concept of ratios, learning ratio language to describe the association between two or more quantities and different strategies to solve ratio problems.

7th Grade - Proportional Relationships

Students deepen their understanding of ratios to investigate proportional relationships, in order to solve multi-step, real-world ratio problems using new strategies that rely on proportional reasoning.

6th Grade - Unit Rates and Percent

Students investigate rates and percentages by identifying the rates associated with a ratio, defining a percent as a rate per 100, and applying strategies to solve rate and percent problems.

8th Grade - Linear Relationships

Students compare proportional relationships, define and identify slope from various representations, graph linear equations in the coordinate plane, and write equations for linear relationships.

6th Grade - Numerical and Algebraic Expressions

Students venture into the Expressions and Equations domain, using variables to represent unknown or changing quantities, and using properties of operations to investigate equivalent expressions.

9th Grade - Exponents and Exponential Functions

Students extend their understanding of properties of exponents to include rational exponents and radicals, and investigate rates of change in linear and exponential sequences and functions.

8th Grade - Systems of Linear Equations

Students explore what happens when you consider two linear equations simultaneously, and explore the many rich applications that can be modeled with systems of linear equations in two variables.

6th Grade - Equations and Inequalities

Students discover how to use equations and inequalities to model relationships between quantities, and investigate the meaning of having a solution to an equation or an inequality.

5th Grade - Patterns and the Coordinate Plane

Students are introduced to the coordinate plane and use it to represent the location of objects in space, as well as to represent patterns and real-world situations.

8th Grade Math - Unit 5: Linear Relationships - Lesson 2

Graph proportional relationships and interpret slope as the unit rate.

7th Grade Math - Unit 1: Proportional Relationships - Lesson 4

Write equations to represent proportional relationships presented in tables.

8th Grade Math - Unit 5: Linear Relationships - Lesson 5

Graph a linear equation using a table of values.

7th Grade Math - Unit 1: Proportional Relationships - Lesson 5

Write equations to represent proportional relationships in word problems.

6th Grade Math - Unit 6: Equations and Inequalities - Lesson 12

Write equations for and graph ratio situations. Define independent and dependent variables.

6th Grade Math - Unit 6: Equations and Inequalities - Lesson 13

Represent the relationship between two quantities in graphs, equations, and tables. (Part 1)
