6th Grade Math

Students learn key concepts in their progression towards middle school algebra, including ratios and rates, rational numbers, algebraic expressions and equations, area and volume, and statistics.

7th Grade Math

In this course students develop their skills in proportional reasoning, rational number computation, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability.

8th Grade Math

Students make several advances in their algebraic reasoning as they solve systems of linear equations, use functions to describe relationships, and analyze two- and three-dimensional figures.

Geometry

Students further their understanding of geometric relationships and learn to make formal mathematical arguments about geometric situations, with a heavy emphasis on transformations and proofs.

10th Grade - Constructions, Proof, and Rigid Motion

Students use the properties of circles to construct and understand different geometric figures, and lay the groundwork for constructing mathematical arguments through proof.

10th Grade - Right Triangles and Trigonometry

Students develop an understanding of right triangles through an introduction to trigonometry, building an appreciation for the similarity of triangles as the basis for developing the Pythagorean theorem.

7th Grade - Percent and Scaling

Students expand on and apply their understanding of percentages by studying percent increase and decrease, percent applications such as tax and simple interest, and scaled geometric drawings.

7th Grade - Geometry

Students apply algebraic and proportional reasoning skills to investigate angle relationships, circle measurements, uniqueness of triangles, and solid figure application problems.

6th Grade - Geometry

Students explore measurements of geometric figures in two-and three-dimensions, finding area, surface area, and volume in mathematical and real-world problems.

6th Grade Math - Unit 7: Geometry - Lesson 14

Describe features of and identify nets that match prisms and pyramids.

6th Grade Math - Unit 7: Geometry - Lesson 15

Create nets and use them to find surface area of three-dimensional figures.

6th Grade Math - Unit 7: Geometry - Lesson 16

Find the surface area of three-dimensional figures with and without nets.

7th Grade Math - Unit 6: Geometry - Lesson 17

Find the surface area of right prisms.

6th Grade Math - Unit 7: Geometry - Lesson 17

Find surface area and volume in real-world problems.

7th Grade Math - Unit 6: Geometry - Lesson 18

Find the surface area of right pyramids.

7th Grade Math - Unit 6: Geometry - Lesson 21

Distinguish between and solve real-world problems involving volume and surface area.
