5th Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, students continue to explore operations with fractions; develop understanding of operations containing whole numbers and decimals to hundredths; and familiarize themselves with volume.

6th Grade Math

Students learn key concepts in their progression towards middle school algebra, including ratios and rates, rational numbers, algebraic expressions and equations, area and volume, and statistics.

7th Grade Math

In this course students develop their skills in proportional reasoning, rational number computation, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability.

8th Grade Math

Students make several advances in their algebraic reasoning as they solve systems of linear equations, use functions to describe relationships, and analyze two- and three-dimensional figures.

Algebra 1

Students explore linear, quadratic, and exponential functions, and develop a deep understanding of the features of each function—graphically and algebraically—as they create models and analyze situations.

9th Grade - Descriptive Statistics

Students analyze contextual situations, focusing on single variable data and bivariate data, and are introduced to the concept of using data to make predictions and judgments about a situation.

5th Grade - Multiplication and Division of Fractions

Students deepen their understanding of fraction multiplication and begin to explore to fraction division (and fractions as division), as well as apply this new understanding to the context of line plots.

7th Grade - Statistics

Students investigate how to use sampling to make inferences about larger populations of interest, engaging in hands-on activities to select random samples and to compare samples of different sizes.

6th Grade - Statistics

Students get their first experience of statistics in this unit, defining a statistical question and investigating the key concepts of measures of center and measures of variability.

8th Grade - Bivariate Data

Students combine their knowledge of linear functions with knowledge of data representations and analysis to make the jump from univariate data in one variable to bivariate data in two variables.

7th Grade Math - Unit 7: Statistics - Lesson 1

Understand and identify populations and sample populations for statistical questions.

7th Grade Math - Unit 7: Statistics - Lesson 2

Describe sampling methods that result in representative samples.

7th Grade Math - Unit 7: Statistics - Lesson 3

Generate a random sample for a statistical question.

Algebra 1 - Unit 2: Descriptive Statistics - Lesson 4

Describe the shape of the data in box plots and histograms. Choose an appropriate measure of center (or an appropriate shape) based on the shape and the relationship between the mean and the median.

7th Grade Math - Unit 7: Statistics - Lesson 5

Determine the impact of sample size on variability and prediction accuracy.

7th Grade Math - Unit 7: Statistics - Lesson 6

Estimate population proportions using sample data.

7th Grade Math - Unit 7: Statistics - Lesson 7

Compare different populations by analyzing visual data distributions.

7th Grade Math - Unit 7: Statistics - Lesson 8

Compare populations by analyzing numerical data.

7th Grade Math - Unit 7: Statistics - Lesson 9

Identify meaningful differences between populations using the mean and mean absolute deviation (MAD) of samples.

6th Grade Math - Unit 8: Statistics - Lesson 13

Analyze box plots and other representations, and summarize numerical data in context.
