6th Grade Math

Students learn key concepts in their progression towards middle school algebra, including ratios and rates, rational numbers, algebraic expressions and equations, area and volume, and statistics.

7th Grade Math

In this course students develop their skills in proportional reasoning, rational number computation, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability.

8th Grade Math

Students make several advances in their algebraic reasoning as they solve systems of linear equations, use functions to describe relationships, and analyze two- and three-dimensional figures.

Algebra 1

Students explore linear, quadratic, and exponential functions, and develop a deep understanding of the features of each function—graphically and algebraically—as they create models and analyze situations.

Geometry

Students further their understanding of geometric relationships and learn to make formal mathematical arguments about geometric situations, with a heavy emphasis on transformations and proofs.

10th Grade - Constructions, Proof, and Rigid Motion

Students use the properties of circles to construct and understand different geometric figures, and lay the groundwork for constructing mathematical arguments through proof.

10th Grade - Congruence in Two Dimensions

Students identify, perform, and algebraically describe rigid motions to establish congruence of two dimensional polygons, including triangles, and develop congruence criteria for triangles.

8th Grade - Transformations and Angle Relationships

Students investigate congruence and similarity by studying transformations of figures in the coordinate plane, and apply these transformations to discover new angle relationships.

10th Grade - Dilations and Similarity

Students use constructions to explore dilations in order to define and establish similarity, and they prove and use similarity criterion and theorems in the solution of problems.

6th Grade - Rational Numbers

Students are introduced to integers and rational numbers, extending the number line to include negative values, understanding the order of rational numbers, and interpreting them in context.

8th Grade - Linear Relationships

Students compare proportional relationships, define and identify slope from various representations, graph linear equations in the coordinate plane, and write equations for linear relationships.

7th Grade - Percent and Scaling

Students expand on and apply their understanding of percentages by studying percent increase and decrease, percent applications such as tax and simple interest, and scaled geometric drawings.

7th Grade - Geometry

Students apply algebraic and proportional reasoning skills to investigate angle relationships, circle measurements, uniqueness of triangles, and solid figure application problems.

6th Grade - Geometry

Students explore measurements of geometric figures in two-and three-dimensions, finding area, surface area, and volume in mathematical and real-world problems.

9th Grade - Quadratic Equations and Applications

Students continue their study of quadratic equations, learning new strategies to determine the vertex and roots of quadratic equations and applying these in various real-world contexts.

8th Grade Math - Unit 3: Transformations and Angle Relationships - Lesson 1

Understand rigid transformations that move figures and maintain congruency (translation, reflection, rotation).

8th Grade Math - Unit 3: Transformations and Angle Relationships - Lesson 2

Describe and perform translations between congruent figures. Use translations to determine if figures are congruent.

8th Grade Math - Unit 3: Transformations and Angle Relationships - Lesson 3

Describe and apply properties of translations. Use coordinate points to represent relationships between translated figures.

8th Grade Math - Unit 3: Transformations and Angle Relationships - Lesson 4

Describe and perform reflections between congruent figures. Understand what features are preserved under reflections.

Geometry - Unit 2: Congruence in Two Dimensions - Lesson 4

Determine congruence of two dimensional figures by translation.
