8th Grade Math

Students make several advances in their algebraic reasoning as they solve systems of linear equations, use functions to describe relationships, and analyze two- and three-dimensional figures.

Algebra 1

Students explore linear, quadratic, and exponential functions, and develop a deep understanding of the features of each function—graphically and algebraically—as they create models and analyze situations.

Geometry

Students further their understanding of geometric relationships and learn to make formal mathematical arguments about geometric situations, with a heavy emphasis on transformations and proofs.

Algebra 2

Students develop their conceptual understanding, fluency, and ability to apply advanced functions, draw connections between function types, and build functions that model contextual situations.

11th Grade - Linear Functions and Applications

Students review and extend the Algebra 1 skills of graphing, manipulating, and describing solutions in order to deepen their understanding of modeling situations using linear functions.

11th Grade - Quadratics

Students build on their knowledge of the features, forms, and representations of quadratic functions, and extend their understanding from solutions in the real number system to the complex number system.

9th Grade - Linear Expressions & Single-Variable Equations/Inequalities

Students become proficient at manipulating and solving single-variable linear equations and inequalities, and using them to model and interpret contextual situations.

11th Grade - Polynomials

Students analyze features of polynomials using their equations and graphs, perform arithmetic operations on polynomials, and use polynomial identities to solve problems.

9th Grade - Linear Equations, Inequalities and Systems

Students manipulate, graph, and model with two-variable linear equations and inequalities, are introduced to inverse functions, and continue studying linear systems of equations and inequalities.

8th Grade - Linear Relationships

Students compare proportional relationships, define and identify slope from various representations, graph linear equations in the coordinate plane, and write equations for linear relationships.

11th Grade - Trigonometric Identities and Equations

Students expand on their knowledge of trigonometry, developing a foundation for calculus concepts by expanding their conception of trigonometric functions and looking at connections between functions.

Algebra 1 - Unit 4: Linear Equations, Inequalities and Systems - Lesson 1

Identify the solutions and features of a linear equation and when two linear equations have the same solutions.

Algebra 2 - Unit 1: Linear Functions and Applications - Lesson 7

Describe the number of solutions of a system of equations. Verify algebraically.

Algebra 2 - Unit 3: Polynomials - Lesson 8

Determine if a binomial is a factor of a polynomial using the remainder theorem.

Algebra 2 - Unit 1: Linear Functions and Applications - Lesson 9

Identify the solution to a system of an absolute value equation and a linear function algebraically and graphically.

Algebra 2 - Unit 2: Quadratics - Lesson 11

Identify solutions to a system of a quadratic function and a linear function graphically and algebraically.

Algebra 2 - Unit 3: Polynomials - Lesson 13

Identify the solution(s) to systems of polynomial functions.
