Curriculum Enhancements Driven by Your Feedback

ELA Updates That Make an Impact

We’ve made our most comprehensive ELA updates. They are grounded in research, shaped by educator feedback, and designed to strengthen student engagement and outcomes across all grade levels.

Highlights include:

  • Major writing instruction overhaul for K–5 using the research-based SRSD model, with more explicit writing process instruction, stronger scaffolds, added mentor texts, and improved rubrics
  • New 11th & 12th Grade ELA courses with compelling real-world themes that help students see themselves as change agents in their communities and beyond
  • Expanded language lessons for K–5 aligned with year-long grammar and language progressions, plus optional practice extensions
  • Updated recommended unit sequences in grades 1–4 to better support pacing and instructional days
  • Targeted enhancements to reading lessons K–2 with added vocabulary and genre-based supports
  • Text list updates across multiple grades, adding culturally relevant titles and removing out-of-print books
  • Improved Teacher Tools library with additional topics and easier navigation
  • Middle and high school enhancements including more intentional vocabulary spiraling, close reading guidance, exit tickets, and improved digital text access through Fishtank Plus

Math Updates to Strengthen Instruction

We're thrilled to announce our new 1st Grade Math course, a key step in our effort to offer a full K-8 Math program. We’ve also expanded and enhanced our 7th and 8th grade courses to include more guidance for teachers and even more high-quality tasks that help students connect math to their daily lives. We plan to bring these same updates to our 3rd-6th grade math courses in the coming years.

Highlights include:

  • New 1st Grade Math course (3 units now, 5 more releasing this fall)
  • Culturally responsive enhancements in middle school math that reflect diverse perspectives and real-world applications
  • Expanded facilitation guidance to help teachers lead lessons with clarity and confidence
  • Built-in spiral review opportunities to reinforce key concepts throughout the year
  • Continued focus on conceptual understanding, problem-solving, and mathematical communication across all grade levels
