7th Grade Math

In this course students develop their skills in proportional reasoning, rational number computation, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability.

8th Grade Math

Students make several advances in their algebraic reasoning as they solve systems of linear equations, use functions to describe relationships, and analyze two- and three-dimensional figures.

Algebra 1

Students explore linear, quadratic, and exponential functions, and develop a deep understanding of the features of each function—graphically and algebraically—as they create models and analyze situations.

9th Grade - Functions, Graphs and Features

Students are introduced to the main features of functions that they will learn throughout the year, providing students with a conceptual understanding of how functions are used to model various situations.

7th Grade - Proportional Relationships

Students deepen their understanding of ratios to investigate proportional relationships, in order to solve multi-step, real-world ratio problems using new strategies that rely on proportional reasoning.

8th Grade - Functions

Students learn how to represent, interpret, and analyze functions in various forms, leading to understanding features such as rates of change, initial values, and intervals of increase and decrease.

9th Grade - Linear Equations, Inequalities and Systems

Students manipulate, graph, and model with two-variable linear equations and inequalities, are introduced to inverse functions, and continue studying linear systems of equations and inequalities.

8th Grade - Linear Relationships

Students compare proportional relationships, define and identify slope from various representations, graph linear equations in the coordinate plane, and write equations for linear relationships.

9th Grade - Exponents and Exponential Functions

Students extend their understanding of properties of exponents to include rational exponents and radicals, and investigate rates of change in linear and exponential sequences and functions.

8th Grade - Bivariate Data

Students combine their knowledge of linear functions with knowledge of data representations and analysis to make the jump from univariate data in one variable to bivariate data in two variables.

Algebra 1 - Unit 4: Linear Equations, Inequalities and Systems - Lesson 3

Determine if a function is linear based on the rate of change of points in the function presented graphically and in a table of values.

8th Grade Math - Unit 8: Bivariate Data - Lesson 3

Identify and describe associations in scatter plots including linear/nonlinear associations, positive/negative associations, clusters, and outliers.

8th Grade Math - Unit 8: Bivariate Data - Lesson 4

Informally fit a line to data. Judge the fit of the line and make predictions about the data based on the line.

Algebra 1 - Unit 1: Functions, Graphs and Features - Lesson 5

Calculate and interpret the rate of change from two points on a graph, in a situation, or in function notation.

8th Grade Math - Unit 4: Functions - Lesson 7

Define and graph linear and nonlinear functions.

8th Grade Math - Unit 5: Linear Relationships - Lesson 8

Graph linear equations using slope-intercept form $${y = mx + b}$$.

8th Grade Math - Unit 4: Functions - Lesson 8

Determine if functions are linear or nonlinear when represented as tables, graphs, and equations.

Algebra 1 - Unit 6: Exponents and Exponential Functions - Lesson 17

Write linear and exponential models for real-world and mathematical problems.
