6th Grade Math

Students learn key concepts in their progression towards middle school algebra, including ratios and rates, rational numbers, algebraic expressions and equations, area and volume, and statistics.

7th Grade Math

In this course students develop their skills in proportional reasoning, rational number computation, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability.

8th Grade Math

Students make several advances in their algebraic reasoning as they solve systems of linear equations, use functions to describe relationships, and analyze two- and three-dimensional figures.

Algebra 1

Students explore linear, quadratic, and exponential functions, and develop a deep understanding of the features of each function—graphically and algebraically—as they create models and analyze situations.

Geometry

Students further their understanding of geometric relationships and learn to make formal mathematical arguments about geometric situations, with a heavy emphasis on transformations and proofs.

Algebra 2

Students develop their conceptual understanding, fluency, and ability to apply advanced functions, draw connections between function types, and build functions that model contextual situations.

11th Grade - Probability and Statistical Inference

Students use probability to make better decisions based on knowledge than on intuition alone, and use the normal distribution to understand outcomes of random processes repeated over time.

10th Grade - Probability

Students formalize their understanding of compound probability, develop an understanding of conditional probability, and understand and calculate permutations and combinations.

7th Grade - Probability

Students have their first encounter with probability, as they develop their understanding of probability through calculating theoretical probabilities and designing and running their own simulations.

6th Grade - Statistics

Students get their first experience of statistics in this unit, defining a statistical question and investigating the key concepts of measures of center and measures of variability.

8th Grade - Bivariate Data

Students combine their knowledge of linear functions with knowledge of data representations and analysis to make the jump from univariate data in one variable to bivariate data in two variables.

Algebra 2 - Unit 8: Probability and Statistical Inference - Lesson 1

Determine probabilities of mutually exclusive events.

7th Grade Math - Unit 8: Probability - Lesson 1

Understand the probability of an event happening is a number between 0 and 1, ranging from impossible to certain.

Geometry - Unit 8: Probability - Lesson 1

Describe the sample space of an experiment or situation. Use probability notation to identify the “and,” “or,” and complement outcomes from a given sample space.

Geometry - Unit 8: Probability - Lesson 2

Determine the probability of events with replacement using tree diagrams, addition rules for mutually exclusive events, and multiplication rules for compound events.

Algebra 2 - Unit 8: Probability and Statistical Inference - Lesson 2

Determine probabilities of events that are not mutually exclusive.

Geometry - Unit 8: Probability - Lesson 4

Determine the probability of events that are not mutually exclusive to formalize the addition rule.

Geometry - Unit 8: Probability - Lesson 5

Describe conditional probability and develop the rule $$P(B|A)=\frac{P(A \space \mathrm{and} \space B)}{P(A)}$$.

8th Grade Math - Unit 8: Bivariate Data - Lesson 8

Calculate relative frequencies in two-way tables to investigate associations in data.

8th Grade Math - Unit 8: Bivariate Data - Lesson 9

Complete two-way tables and identify associations in the data.
