6th Grade Math

Students learn key concepts in their progression towards middle school algebra, including ratios and rates, rational numbers, algebraic expressions and equations, area and volume, and statistics.

7th Grade Math

In this course students develop their skills in proportional reasoning, rational number computation, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability.

8th Grade Math

Students make several advances in their algebraic reasoning as they solve systems of linear equations, use functions to describe relationships, and analyze two- and three-dimensional figures.

6th Grade - Understanding and Representing Ratios

Students are introduced to the concept of ratios, learning ratio language to describe the association between two or more quantities and different strategies to solve ratio problems.

6th Grade - Unit Rates and Percent

Students investigate rates and percentages by identifying the rates associated with a ratio, defining a percent as a rate per 100, and applying strategies to solve rate and percent problems.

7th Grade - Percent and Scaling

Students expand on and apply their understanding of percentages by studying percent increase and decrease, percent applications such as tax and simple interest, and scaled geometric drawings.

6th Grade - Equations and Inequalities

Students discover how to use equations and inequalities to model relationships between quantities, and investigate the meaning of having a solution to an equation or an inequality.

6th Grade - Statistics

Students get their first experience of statistics in this unit, defining a statistical question and investigating the key concepts of measures of center and measures of variability.

8th Grade - Bivariate Data

Students combine their knowledge of linear functions with knowledge of data representations and analysis to make the jump from univariate data in one variable to bivariate data in two variables.

7th Grade Math - Unit 5: Percent and Scaling - Lesson 1

Define percent and convert between fractions, decimals, and percentages. Solve percent problems mentally with benchmark percentages.

7th Grade Math - Unit 5: Percent and Scaling - Lesson 3

Find the whole given a part and percent.

7th Grade Math - Unit 5: Percent and Scaling - Lesson 4

Find the percent given a part and the whole.

7th Grade Math - Unit 5: Percent and Scaling - Lesson 7

Find the percent of increase or decrease given the original and new amounts.

6th Grade Math - Unit 2: Unit Rates and Percent - Lesson 8

Define percent as a rate per 100. Find percentages of 100 and 1.

7th Grade Math - Unit 5: Percent and Scaling - Lesson 8

Solve percent problems fluently, including percent increase and decrease.

8th Grade Math - Unit 8: Bivariate Data - Lesson 8

Calculate relative frequencies in two-way tables to investigate associations in data.

6th Grade Math - Unit 2: Unit Rates and Percent - Lesson 9

Solve percent problems using benchmark fractions and percentages, with and without written work.

6th Grade Math - Unit 2: Unit Rates and Percent - Lesson 10

Convert between fractions, percent, and decimals.

7th Grade Math - Unit 5: Percent and Scaling - Lesson 10

Solve percent applications involving simple interest, commissions, and other fees.

7th Grade Math - Unit 5: Percent and Scaling - Lesson 11

Solve percent applications involving measurement and percent error.
