3rd Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, third graders develop an understanding of and fluency with multiplication and division within 100, fractions, area, and properties of two-dimensional shapes.

5th Grade Math

In this Common Core-aligned course, students continue to explore operations with fractions; develop understanding of operations containing whole numbers and decimals to hundredths; and familiarize themselves with volume.

6th Grade Math

Students learn key concepts in their progression towards middle school algebra, including ratios and rates, rational numbers, algebraic expressions and equations, area and volume, and statistics.

7th Grade Math

In this course students develop their skills in proportional reasoning, rational number computation, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability.

8th Grade Math

Students make several advances in their algebraic reasoning as they solve systems of linear equations, use functions to describe relationships, and analyze two- and three-dimensional figures.

7th Grade - Proportional Relationships

Students deepen their understanding of ratios to investigate proportional relationships, in order to solve multi-step, real-world ratio problems using new strategies that rely on proportional reasoning.

7th Grade - Operations with Rational Numbers

Students extend the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to include positive and negative rational numbers, and build fluency with evaluating numerical expressions.

5th Grade - Multiplication and Division of Whole Numbers

Students continue their work with multi-digit multiplication and division and the base-ten system in order to finalize fluency with multi-digit multiplication and extend division to two-digit divisors.

6th Grade - Multi-Digit and Fraction Computation

Students extend their understanding of multiplication and division to divide fractions by fractions, and develop fluency with whole number and decimal operations.

6th Grade - Rational Numbers

Students are introduced to integers and rational numbers, extending the number line to include negative values, understanding the order of rational numbers, and interpreting them in context.

5th Grade - Addition and Subtraction of Fractions/Decimals

Students extend their computational work to include fractions and decimals, adding and subtracting numbers in those forms in this unit before moving to multiplication and division in subsequent units.

5th Grade - Multiplication and Division of Fractions

Students deepen their understanding of fraction multiplication and begin to explore to fraction division (and fractions as division), as well as apply this new understanding to the context of line plots.

5th Grade - Multiplication and Division of Decimals

Students use their knowledge of multiplication and division with whole numbers and with fractions to multiply and divide with decimals, and apply this understanding to the context of measurement conversion.

6th Grade - Equations and Inequalities

Students discover how to use equations and inequalities to model relationships between quantities, and investigate the meaning of having a solution to an equation or an inequality.

3rd Grade - Fractions

Students understand fractions as numbers on the number line and explore fraction equivalence and comparison in simple cases, then apply this fractional understanding to measure fractional lengths and represent them on a number line plot.

8th Grade - Pythagorean Theorem and Volume

Students learn about irrational numbers, approximating square roots of non-perfect square numbers, and investigate the well-known Pythagorean Theorem to solve for missing measures in right triangles.

6th Grade - Geometry

Students explore measurements of geometric figures in two-and three-dimensions, finding area, surface area, and volume in mathematical and real-world problems.

6th Grade - Statistics

Students get their first experience of statistics in this unit, defining a statistical question and investigating the key concepts of measures of center and measures of variability.

7th Grade Math - Unit 2: Operations with Rational Numbers - Lesson 1

Represent rational numbers on the number line. Define opposites, absolute value, and rational numbers.

6th Grade Math - Unit 3: Multi-Digit and Fraction Computation - Lesson 1

Interpret division problems as the number of items in each group or the number of groups of a given number of items. Write corresponding multiplication and division problems.
